In order to comply with FAA requests with regard to airport users operating vehicles or equipment on the airfield, the Tunica Airport has compiled a continuing education process with coordination from the FAA. This new training process is in response to enhance safety while driving on the airfield and minimize potential aircraft incursion situations within the aviation system. Initially all of us, in order to receive driving credentials on the airport, must have attended an Airport Ground Operations training course taught at the airport. This initial course which was taught in a class environment which will continue to be the initial requirement when new operators/users drive on the airfield. Part of the new requirement from the FAA was to provide continuing training on an annual basis for the operators/users that continue to operate vehicles on the airfield. The Tunica Airport has come up with a course that can be performed at your own pace via the internet. Following, we will have instructions listed in order to gain access to our CBT (Computer Based Training) site. The airport will do it’s very best to notify you a month in advance of the expiration from your initial training. Please do not let your training lapse over the expiration date. This could cause you to loose any driving privileges that you have on the airfield, and will only be reactivated until you have completed the online annual refresher course. The recurring training consists of six different videos that should take no longer 40 minutes to view. Also, at the end of each video is a small quiz for each video. In order to receive credit for the whole course (all six videos), each section quiz must show complete on your user record.
There is no cost associated with the course |
